Welcome to Airyolland farm,situated in the Southern Uplands of Scotland & run by Neale and Janet McQuistin.
We breed Beltex and Scotch Mule sheep.
We also produce Highland cross Whitebred Shorthorn calves.
Kelso 2019
We had a very strong pen of 19 Beltex shearlings and our first consignment of 5 Bluebell shearlings at the Kelso rams sales at Kelso on the 13th September. Beltex sold to a top of £2000 twice and averaged £995 for the 19.
Beltex Beauties
We had 9 Beltex gimmers forward at the Beltesx Beauties sale at Carlisle on the 30th August
They sold to a top of 3800gns and averaged £1110 for the 9 .
Carlisle 2019.
We had 10 shearlings entered for Carlisle. The group sold very well to a top of 7000gns and averaged £2260 for the 10.
Kelso 2018
This year we took 18 Beltex shearlings to Kelso multibreed sale. The pen sold extremely well and we topped the Beltex with Airyolland Confucious, selling for £4000. The pen of 18 averaged £1470.
Beltex Beauties 2018
We sold 11 gimmers at the Beltex Beauties sale on 31st August at Carlisle. They sold to a top price of 3600gns and the pen averaged £1450 for the 11.
Carlisle 2018
Carlisle sale 2018 will be one to remember for the Airyolland flock with Airyolland Castro selling for the new record price for a Beltex at 65000gns. Our pen of shearlings went on to average £9628 for the 10. More info>>>
Our Bluefaced Leicester flock was founded in the late seventies.The focus of our breeding programme over the last thirty years has been to produce BFL sheep that are for producing mules. Now we will be crossing the remaining females with the Beltex to produce the Bluebel.
